Yinka Arafat Balogun – Non-Executive Director
Arafat Olayinka Balogun is an alumnus of University of Miami, Coral Gables and University of Virginia, Charlottesville. She holds an A.B in Politics and Public Affairs from University of Miami and a J.D (Law); M.A (in Middle East & American Foreign Policy) and an LLM (Corporate Finance & Taxation) from the University of Virginia. She is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Arafat has had a rewarding career in Law, Compliance and banking spanning about 25 years out of which 12years was spent in senior management positions in United Bank for Africa Plc. Arafat was the pioneer Chief Compliance officer in UBA and was active in drafting and implementing the Bank’s Compliance Plan. Arafat’s headed the unit that serviced UBA bank subsidiaries in Africa and the bank’s New York and Grand Cayman branches; UBA Capital plc and the Bank’s Energy & Corporate Bank.
She disengaged from the Bank in 2014 and currently provides legal and advisory services to several local and multinational companies.
